Jewellery Haul - Owl Mad ♥

"Hoot Hoot!"

I went on the hunt for some cute owl pieces at the weekend as i just adore owls. How can you not?
Ive recently spotted the gorgeous Alexa Chung and Nicole Richie sporting some unique Owl pendants recently and they both just happend to be two of my favourite fashion influences, so i thaught id go and see if i could grab some for myself!

So here are the lovely things i purchased...

The first thing i got was this little ring. I spotted it all by itself in the corner of a stand in the sale part. Is so quirky and different, I love it! Love that its sat on a little brance too, how sweet is that? (:
Shop - Internacionale.
price - £1.99

Second things i spotted, In the same shop...Were these two long chained necklaces. Now, ive never seen anything like these before and probably wont wear them all that often because they are quite big and are more statment pieces, rather than casual, everyday wear. However, I think they would look lovely with a plain white vest top though.
Im in love with the one on the right, I love how the feathers are made from old style gold coins, really gives it a vintage look. The detail on it is beautiful.
Both were £3.99 each.

The last thing i got was from Accesorize. Its a teeny tiny owl on a very delicate chain.
I think it would look cute layered with some longer necklaces. I love how it has two little faux amber coloured diomonds as eyes.
This was around £6.

What do you think of Owl Jewellery? Yay or Nay?

Review: Mac Paint Pots ♥

Everyone has a 'holy grail' primer, right?
I was struggling to find a good primer for my eyelids, as they are quite troublesome to say the least.
Ive tried most of the highly coveted primers on the market, Urban decay primer potion, Too Faced Shadow Insurence, Elf Primer, even the new Nars primer...None of them really comes close to these. Most of them i found were too dry, too thin, too watery or greasy...

These, I must say are the perfect formulation.

Packaging?
Packaging is nice and simple, A clear, heavy, sturdy glass jar with a black screw top lid. You have to dip your fingers in the jar though, which is a slight hastle sometimes if you have long nails.
I love the look of the little pots though, So adorable and tiny!

The colours i own are:

Pinterly - Most universal one. Pink toned flesh colour. Best for every day use.
Bare Study - Shimmery white beige. Also good for every day use.
Coral Crepe - This is an LE Paint Pot. Bright vivid, extremely pigmented coral. Quite thick in consitency.
Rubenesque - Same finnish as Bare Study. Shimmery light golden peach.
Quite Natural - I use this as eyeliner. Dark warm matte brown.

What i like most about these are that you can wear them alone as a light eyeshadow or as a liner. Ive even heard of people wearing coral crepe and rubanesque on their cheeks. They dont budge or smudge either.
They make any eyeshadow colour go on smoothly and more vivida and my eyeshadow stays perfect right the way though till' when i take it off.

I find the best way to use these are to make sure your hands are warm and swirl your finger in the product for a minite to warm it up, Then apply straight onto lids with your fingers, a brush could also work, but wouldnt be as even.

They retail for £13 on the Mac website and in store. A reasonable price considering they contain 5g of primer, which will last a long time!

Collection 2000 Hot Looks Nail Polish ♥

Awh, How cute are these little gems?

The colours i own:

Button Moon - Minty light green with hints of blue (How adorable is that name!?)
BMX Bandit - mixture of purple and navy blue.
Dynasty - Light pink with lilac undertones
Hoola Hoop - bright neon pink.

There are 20 shades to collect in total, but these are the ones that caught my eye the most.

The shades are so fun and suitable for summer, all very vibrant candy shades with a very shiny wet look finnish.
My favourite of the four is BMX Bandit, Ive never come across a colour like it. In some lights it looks blue and in other lights, purple.

(Colour ouside in natural light.)

Top to bottom - Dynasty, Button Moon, BMX Bandit, Hoola Hoop.

The application of these polishes are all top quality. They apply smoothly and are totally opaque with 2 coats. I LOVE the brush! Its a very similar brush to OPI's pro wide brushes. I'm a huge fan of wide brushes, It just makes application so simple and quick.

Another thing i love is the bottle, So dinky and cute, looks adorable on my shelf...The bottle is very small and you only get 8ml of polish, But for £1.79 what could you expect? Plus i never finnish a full bottle of polish anyway, so the size does not bother me one bit.

The lasting power of the polishes is average, About 2 or 3 days then it starts to chip, with a good topcoat like Seche vite, it would last longer though.

I highly recommend these polishes, Lovely colours, great application, fast drying, cute bottles and really really cheap!
Im definitly going back to superdrug to buy more!

Mac Neutral Palette, Complete! ♥

Today is a very important day, Very important indeed.
My Mac neutral palette is finally complete!
I got this palette along with 3 shadows for christmas and have been determined to fill every slot since with a pretty neural shadow that I can wear everyday.
Ive chosen simple, wearable colours that are easy to work with, that i can slap on half asleep in the mornings and know will still look good (:

I'm fairly content with it, I may buy a few more darker frosty brown shadows to put in it, as i think it consists too much of matte browns and lighter shades at the moment, but for now, its just right!
I tried my best to organise it by colour, putting lighter shades on the top row, slightly darker shades in the middle and darker on the bottom...its still a bit jumbled up though!

Left to right:
Top row - Shrom, Blanc Type, Brule, Gleam, Gesso
Middle - Omega, RetroSpeck, Cork, Cranberry, Electra
Bottom - Satin Taupe, Brun, Brun (why do i have 2?), Embark, Carbon.

I have no idea why i have 2 Brun shadows. Hmm. Strange.

Anyways, I love it...
Lil seems to love it too haha

July 2010 Faves! ♥

Wow, cant believe July's over!
Its quite scary how fast this years going! Next thing you know, it'll be 2011! eeee.

Anyways, I did alot of experimenting in July, Trying to find some HG status products.
I think i may have found a few good'uns (:

here are the products ive fallen head over heals for in July:

Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation.
Ive been on the search for the HG foundation. This is most definitly it! Sinks right into the skin , masks any flaws, feels fresh and light and adds a subtle glow!

Lush Tea Tree Water Toner.
I dont usually like toners because they irrittate my super sensitive skin like crazy. This one however, dosnt contain any alcahol so it isnt drying at all. It also has an anaseptic ingredient that kills any nasty bacteria on your face which stops those pesky spots popping up! genius! Ive used this every morning without fail and have only a little bit left in this hugeee bottle, Good job i have a backup!

Mac Soft and Gentle MSF.
Ive been interchanging this beauty with Dior amber diamond alot this month, but have been reaching for this a bit more. Its a nice simple shade that goes with any look. I use this wet with Fix +. Result = lovely dewy skin.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Bisque.
Simple peach based product that erases blue tones under the eyes like a dream! Its a tad expensive for this tiny little pot but you only need to dab your finger in it once and thats more than enough!

Mac Prep and Prime Face Powder.
Now, I'm one of those 'No powder' girls. Well atleast i was until i tried this! My foundation tends to shift around the nose and chin area, but stays put everywhere else, So i thaught i would take my chances with this. Im glad i did, because its the most finely milled powder ever and certainly does not look like your wearing powder at all. It gives a smooth 'Soft focus' effect on the skin also. This is a must have for me now.

Nars Gina Blush.
Gorgeous, long wearing, summery,Pigmented, dusty peach shade. Nuff' said.
Im'a peach loving girl.

Revlon Peach Petal Lipgloss.
Yummy milky peach gloss. Ive been reaching for this alot because its enough to wear on its own because its quite opaque. Lipstick is just far too heavy feeling when its hot outside!

None makeup related thing ive been loving and living off in the last month...Good ol' English Tea and Biscuits!
i'm addicted, yum.

Mac's Jazzed Lipstick Review + Possible Dupes?!

I finally got my mitts on Jazzed lipstick (:

Yay!
Jazzed has just been recently relesased with the 'In The Groove' collection from Mac. It sold out on the website quite fast. I was gutted as i didnt order it as soon as it was released and later found that it had sold out. I wasnt a happy girlie...
I am now though!

Colour?
Jazzed is deffinitly a summer lipstick.
It looked pretty neon orange on some swatched i had seen which put me off slightly, However in real life, its a more muted pastel toned coral.
...And its wearable! Yay!
I can never usually find a wearable coral, so this is a big plus, thumbs-up Mac!
(It shows up a little bit brighter then in the pictures.)

Texture and Lasting Power?
Jazzed is a cremesheen, which is my favourite formulation that Mac does, Its quite moisturising and smooth and dosnt leave my lips feeling dry once its worn off. Be careful with cremesheens though, as when exposed to heat they will melt pretty quickly! Ive also heard of peoples cremesheen lipsticks snapping when applying, so be careful of that!
Jazzed lasted a good 2-3 hours on my lips but came off during lunch, which is normal with most lipsticks.

Dupes!
As with all limited edition products that i love, i try to find dupes in my collection in fear of running out.
I think ive found some pretty close dupes to Jazzed -

YSL Foubourge Peach & Boots Natural Collection Rose Petal.

The YSL is slightly darker and more pink and the Natural Collection is a bit more pale but both are rather close dupes in my opinion.
The swatches show how close they actually are!

Sephora By OPI - Call Your Mother ♥

I got these in the post this week, all the way from America, Exciting!

I purchased The well known Metro Chic and took a gamble on Call your mother.
They are both gorgeous colours, I havnt tried Metro Chic yet, Because i'm currently sporting (...and LOVING!) Call Your Mother.

Its a Realy unique musky lilac with dirty grey undertones. Its a very sophisticated colour thats fun and quirky at the same time. Ive been searching for a colour like this for ages. I think it will be perfect for winter!
(Please excuse the nails, they are in recovery process from when I had Acrylic nails!)

The brush is not like the regular wide OPI brushes, It's just your average nail polish brush. I much prefer the wide brushes, but its not a problem since the colour is so fantastic.
It goes on smoothly and I only needed 2 coats for it to be opaque.
As for the wear, Ive had the polish on for 3 days now, and have only a slight chip on my thumb nail and thats all! So, its quite hard wearing considering most polishes only last a day or 2 on me!

10/10!
