Mini Rave - LUSH Maple Taffy Lip Balm ♥

Lush Maple Taffy, A new LUSH christmas product.

Lush Says -
"The taste of this balm is unbelievably moreish. Mixed in with the syrup, we've added Japan and carnauba waxes with extra virgin coconut oil to form a moisturising layer on the lips and keep them safe from the nip of winter. "

I was on the search for good 'winter' lip balm and had read mostly positive reviews on lushes site for this product, so i popped into lush on my way back from work a few days ago and grabbed one.
A winter lip balm in my opinion needs to be thick, long lasting moisturising and also has to prevent my lips from cracking and peeling...this little tin was just what i was on the hunt for.

I have and love the Palmers Dark chocolate and peppermint lip balm that was in my previous monthly favourites post, but that has quite a thin consistency and i use that to just pop over lipsticks while on the go and I needed something to get me through the (...supposedly) harsh winter thats ahead!

My thaughts?
Just like all Lush lip balms the texture is very waxy, hard and thick, which i love as it really cotes the lips well and acts as a barrier against the icy wind, i find it works a treat under drying lipstick and fills in any lines in the lips, making lips look plumper and more healthy, almost acts as a good lip primer in a way!

This balm contains real Syrup, which makes it taste unusual...but i like it,
Ive never known a lip balm contain real syrup before!
It lasts a good 2 hours on my lips and even after its gone, my lips still feel soft a while after.

The smell is divine and is the thing that makes this lip balm so addicting to apply. Whenever i smell it, it makes me think of christmas!
The Scent is quite difficult to describe, i cant quite put my finger on it, its quite a spicy, sweet, sickly cakey scent, so being a major sweet lover, i adore it! Its not for everyone though, one of my friends said it made her feel nauseous, while another said it was yummy.
It really does remind me of butterscotch angels delight...
...Remember that stuff? yum.

The only downside to this balm is you really need to rub your fingers around for a minute to warm the product up as it is so thick and is almost a solid product. The texture is very similar to Lushes solid perfumes if youve ever tried any of them.

Ingrediends?
all good ofcourse!

Maple Syrup Extra Virgin
Coconut Oil Illipe Butter Japan Wax Extra Virgin Coconut oil (Cocos nucifera), Maple Syrup, Japan Wax (Rhus succedanea), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Illipe Butter (Shorea stenoptera), Carnauba Wax, Flavour, Glycerine.

Price?
A teeny tiny £2.50!
Its so cheap, ive stocked up on them to see me through winter (:

Will you be buying a tin?

Collective Haul & Update ♥

Sorry for not blogging for a week or so, Ive just started my final year of a 3 year course in college, so its been quite hectic, running round like a headless chicken and on top of that Ive just enrolled on a media makeup and photography course. busy busy busy! I'm all settled in now though and have a good routine set up, I have thursdays and fridays free so that means blogging time (:

Ive been trying not to buy so much makeup, i have cut down *slightly* but i cant resist a good buy when i see one, So here is what ive accumilated over the past couple of weeks...

I ordered Mac's Face and body foundation and Studio Sculpt concealer a couple of weeks ago just because i wanted to try them out. I wasnt holding up much hope for Face and body as i do like heavier coverage but after seeing it on Charlottes blog, i thaught id give it a go, It looks lovely on her skin!

Face and Body - £23
Studio Sculpt £13

Then i popped over to my nearest CCO (...which is only up the road!) and picked up this brush, I head its good for cream foundation. It was the last in the shop, so i grabbed it...

Mac 189 - £14 Bargin!

A couple of shops away from my CCO is the body shop Depot, it sells lots of Body shop things that are discontinued and old stock. Ive been wanting these blushes for a while...simply because they remind me of MSF's and look so pretty. I tried the peachy one on this morning and its beautiful on the skin.

Cool Dusk - £3
Warm Sunset - £3
RRP £12 each!

On my last post i said i wanted to give a Red lipstick a go from Mac, So i got one!
It was between Ruby Woo and Ladybug...I went for Ruby woo as its just a classic matte red. Its gorgeous, I feel like i'm in the 1950's when i wear it!
I also spotted Peach Nuance at my Estee Lauder counter and it reminds me of Ripe Peach which i sadly missed out on and i had a £10 voucher, so it was quite a bargin.
Ofcourse i cant go into town without going into Lush, i was on the hunt for a good handcream for winter. The lady at Lush was so helpful and suggested that i should give Smitten a try. It smells SO yummy, Like marzipan. Yum.

Mac Ruby Woo Lipstick - £12.50
Estee Lauder Peach Nuance - £14 (without voucher £24)
Lush Smitten - £6

Last but by no means least...I got an iPhone 4! eeeeee.
I wanted the white one, but its not out yet and i'm so impatient i couldnt wait haha.

A big hello to all my new followers!

Lush Dream Cream ♥

Most Lush products dont really appeal to me and i find them to be slightly overhyped. But i was on the market for a good bodycream, so i succumbed to the hype and picked this up, hoping for utter miracles!

My skin type is extremley sensitive, flares up and becomes incredibly itchy and inflamed so easily if it dosnt agree with a poduct, So i was slightly apprehensive about giving this a go...

Its made from mostly natural ingredients, its vegan and contains a blend of these essential ingredients to help soothe, calm and moisturise the skin:
Cammomile
Oat Milk
Rose oil
Lavender oil.

Impressive!

The cream itself is a quite unnatractive beigey/pale yellow colour and smells very...herby?
I cant really discribe the smell, but its definitely natural smelling, not totally umpleasent, makes me a bit drowsy though haha.
Its a very thick rich cream. Quite a weird thickness though, You could hold the pot upside down for as long as you like and it wouldnt fall out, but its not at all solid like a balm or anything.
Since its such a thick cream, it does take a good few minutes to sink in...So its best to apply this at night, also you dont want to walk around during the day smelling like a herb shop! lol.

Well then, did it work?
Dream Cream is said to 'calm irritations, reduce redness and banish blotches'...
It deffinitly did all this plus more!
Hurrah!

I absalutly love this body cream. I apply this all over my chest neck arms and legs before going to bed and in the morning my skin feels velvetty soft and has a nice natural, healthy sheen to it.
It didnt irritate my skin one bit, it actually calmed the redness down and felt so cooling and refreshing!
Ive used every night for 2 weeks so far, and ive hardly made a dent! So its going to last me a while, yay (:

Fairly good price also - £8.60 for 250ml!
Go grab yourself some!

July 2010 Faves! ♥

Wow, cant believe July's over!
Its quite scary how fast this years going! Next thing you know, it'll be 2011! eeee.

Anyways, I did alot of experimenting in July, Trying to find some HG status products.
I think i may have found a few good'uns (:

here are the products ive fallen head over heals for in July:

Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation.
Ive been on the search for the HG foundation. This is most definitly it! Sinks right into the skin , masks any flaws, feels fresh and light and adds a subtle glow!

Lush Tea Tree Water Toner.
I dont usually like toners because they irrittate my super sensitive skin like crazy. This one however, dosnt contain any alcahol so it isnt drying at all. It also has an anaseptic ingredient that kills any nasty bacteria on your face which stops those pesky spots popping up! genius! Ive used this every morning without fail and have only a little bit left in this hugeee bottle, Good job i have a backup!

Mac Soft and Gentle MSF.
Ive been interchanging this beauty with Dior amber diamond alot this month, but have been reaching for this a bit more. Its a nice simple shade that goes with any look. I use this wet with Fix +. Result = lovely dewy skin.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Bisque.
Simple peach based product that erases blue tones under the eyes like a dream! Its a tad expensive for this tiny little pot but you only need to dab your finger in it once and thats more than enough!

Mac Prep and Prime Face Powder.
Now, I'm one of those 'No powder' girls. Well atleast i was until i tried this! My foundation tends to shift around the nose and chin area, but stays put everywhere else, So i thaught i would take my chances with this. Im glad i did, because its the most finely milled powder ever and certainly does not look like your wearing powder at all. It gives a smooth 'Soft focus' effect on the skin also. This is a must have for me now.

Nars Gina Blush.
Gorgeous, long wearing, summery,Pigmented, dusty peach shade. Nuff' said.
Im'a peach loving girl.

Revlon Peach Petal Lipgloss.
Yummy milky peach gloss. Ive been reaching for this alot because its enough to wear on its own because its quite opaque. Lipstick is just far too heavy feeling when its hot outside!

None makeup related thing ive been loving and living off in the last month...Good ol' English Tea and Biscuits!
i'm addicted, yum.
